The Head Oracle is gravely ill. A terrible storm has torn through the land, filling the people with fear. They
turn to you; oracles of the temple, sacred predictors of the future.
Soothsayer is a board game that will place you in the world of these oracles. You will hear the questions of the people, gaze upon the stars, and compete subtly for the favor of the ailing head of your temple.
Each game you will have the opportunity to explore the past of one of ten possible supplicants. As you place stars, their past life will become visible to you, and your advice for their future will shape what is to come. There is a story to be told, and a prize to be won. Listen to your instincts, to your supplicant, and to the stars if you wish to become the next Head Oracle.
Production of Soothsayer will be funded through Kickstarter beginning October 1, 2019.
Sarah Rowan is a game designer who very much dislikes writing short blurbs about herself. She has a degree in Game Design and Development from RIT, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and an awesome wife who inspired this project. She designed Soothsayer as a game dedicated to storytelling, good-spirited competition, and centering the lives of women and LGBT people.
